Rautio Properties

Gold copper +- cobalt mineralisation is hosted in meta-turbidites and metavolcanics at the margins of the Rautio batholith.

The Rautio batholith is a late orogenic (1.89 Ga) zoned intrusion. Small uneconomic porphyry style molybdenum +- gold, copper mineralisation is associated with discreet phases within the intrusion at Susineva and Taipale.

Around the margins of the batholith, multielement glacial till anomalies and several occurrences of gold, copper, cobalt mineralisation have been identified in drillholes and outcrop by previous workers.

Numerous high-grade gold boulders with visible gold, of uncertain provenance have been identified in the claim areas.

Current Status

  • Regional till geochemistry programme completed, November 2006.
  • Current exploration efforts are focused on tracking gold till and boulder anomalies to source.
